Critical Librarianship & Pedagogy Symposium

Hosted biennially by the University of Arizona Libraries since 2016, the Critical Librarianship & Pedagogy Symposium (CLAPS) brings together the ongoing discourse surrounding critical pedagogy among academic librarians, critical pedagogy scholars, and teaching faculty. In 2019, CLAPS was awarded the ACRL-IS Special Certificate of Recognition & Appreciation "in recognition of the contribution that the Symposium makes in building community among librarians interested in recognizing and critiquing power structures inherent in information practices, and in library professionals’ workas educators."
